Shahariar Sadat is currently the Head of Programme of Human Rights and Legal Aid Services (HRLS) at BRAC. He is an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh and an accredited mediator and master trainer on mediation. He has been invited to join the Global Mediation Panel of the Office of the Ombudsman for United Nations Funds and Programmes. He has worked as country mediator of the Compliance Advisor Ombudsman of the World Bank Group and a mediator for the Independent Redress mechanism of Green Climate Fund. He is associated with Bangladesh International Arbitration Centre (BIAC) as a panel mediator and master trainer. Shahariar had been an adjunct faculty of University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh and University of Dhaka. He was the Academic Coordinator and Research Manager of South Asian Institute of Advanced Legal and Human Rights Studies (SAILS) and played the key role of Academic Coordinator at the Centre for Peace and Justice (CPJ), BRAC University. Mr Sadat graduated in Economics from University of Dhaka and achieved Master’s in Social Science in Economics. Afterwards he graduated in Law from University of London and completed Master’s in Industrial and Employment Relations from ITCILO under University of Turin with distinction.
